Starting Positions
Just sixteen vehicles on the grid. It was another bad qualifying for the driver: following his result of 20th and last in Las Vegas, leading to an eighth-place finish in the grand prix, he failed to make it out of the first qualifying segment once more on the previous day. Ferrari have as a result adjusted to his setup and so he begins from the starting area.

Alright, approximately twenty minutes remaining until the short race gets under way. Barring disaster, its main importance is as an indication of future events, instead of highly important in its itself, with just eight championship points available to the winner. However, the runner-up spot here was enough for the driver to become champion two years ago.
The driver claimed the championship following Pérez crashes out of the short race.
