Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
